Cap Tamarin is Trimetys’ 44-hectare mixed-use district on Mauritius’s west coast, bringing homes and workplaces together with shopping, education, healthcare, sport and public space. Its identity comes from its position within Tamarin’s existing village landscape, close to the river, bay and La Tourelle, rather than from a single residential building.
A NEIGHBOURHOOD BUILT AROUND DAILY LIFE
The destination already includes businesses and services used by the surrounding community. Cœur de Ville’s retail offer, La Place, École Paul et Virginie, Life Together Clinic and RM Club give practical substance to the neighbourhood’s mixed-use approach. Residents and workers can combine daily errands with schooling, healthcare, exercise and dining within the wider district. Access to individual facilities, including paid sport and leisure services, follows the operator’s own arrangements.
DISTINCT ADDRESSES WITHIN THE MASTERPLAN
The residential portfolio includes different scales and formats. Zetwal combines apartments, penthouses and townhouses; Villas A’loès provides detached homes with private outdoor space; Cosy Bay and Suncoast offer apartment living with their own shared facilities. H57 adds offices and ground-floor retail premises. Each project has its own plans, specifications and commercial position, so the masterplan should be used to understand the setting before comparing a particular building or unit.
O’Patio Apartments and Les Terrasses du Barachois are also presented by the developer among its completed projects. Their presence helps distinguish the existing neighbourhood from future elements of the programme.
LANDSCAPE AND LONG-TERM PROGRAMME
Published masterplan targets include 1,200 residences, a three-hectare riverside park and three kilometres of pedestrian and cycle routes. The wider programme also provides for offices, retail and sports accommodation. Delivery is organised in phases extending to 2030; these are masterplan figures and planned components, not a statement that every facility is complete or that 1,200 homes are currently available.
The developer’s environmental approach includes green space and provision for softer forms of transport. Measures within individual buildings vary: for example, Suncoast’s advertised water-recycling and common-area energy systems belong to that project’s specification and should not automatically be attributed to every Cap Tamarin residence.
Use the masterplan and project location documents to understand how the different addresses relate to one another. For a purchase or lease, the relevant development and numbered unit documents provide the more precise basis for comparing space, outdoor areas, finishes, delivery and current terms.
